The Camp de Base officially opens in July 2023, after two years of renovations.
ust 1km away from La Grave and its legendary Téléphérique (2200m of descent on exclusively natural terrain), Camp de Base aims to be the reference point and meeting place for freeride snowboarding in the La Grave area.
In addition to the Télé, the guesthouse is located 20-30 minutes away from Les2Alpes, Alpe d’Huez, and Monetier les Bains, and 10 minutes from the col du Lautaret, which at its 2000 meters above sea level offers wonderful splitboard routes until late spring.
Since winter 23/24, after various collaborations and years of friendship, Camp de Base becomes the testing center for PLP Custom Snowboards.
The agreement was mutual, natural, and spontaneous: the Plp boards find the ideal terrain on the slopes of La Grave to be tested and appreciated. The Base Camp can offer its clients a full-on freeride experience: while it’s true that off-piste the perfect board doesn’t always exist, having a wide range of boards to choose from allows you to find the best fit, but only for that particular day, depending on the specific snow conditions.
The structure consists of 5 shared rooms (2 doubles, 2 for 4 people, and one for 6 people), a shared kitchen and living-dining room, and a ski room.
Possibility to organize guided outings with local instructors and alpine guides.
